Professional Experience

In 1990, I participated in Prof. Baris’s Research Study Group. Under his supervision, I studied planning and development research methods, practice, and approaches pertinent to health maintenance of patients with mesothelioma. The work covers assessment of patients, evaluating the effectiveness of various kinds of therapeutic options, and epidemiological field studies.

Between the years of 1997 and 1998, I worked with international investigators, and organized national mesothelioma panels.

In 1993, I was awarded a NATO scholarship and was accepted as a research fellow in the Department of Oncology, Boston University, and Medical Center, headed by Prof. Mc Caffrey. I studied on in-vitro drug susceptibility testing with two human mesothelioma cell lines. During the study period, I learned how to propagate cell cultures, MTT drug sensitivity tests, in addition to Western Blot Laboratory method.

I worked as a chair of the national mesothelioma study group between 1997 and 1999.

Between the years of 1990 and 1998, I personally diagnosed and treated over 70 patients with mesothelioma.

I propagated a FDA controlled phase III drug study on mesothelioma as a principal investigator between the years of 1999 and 2001 in Turkey.

Special Skills

I am experienced in the management of endobronchial therapy modalities, such as endobronchial laser application, stent insertion, and brachitherapy.

I am also experienced with the usage of the Limited Sleep Study equipment (Rapid Medilog,Oxford, UK) and CPAP/BIPAP systems (Respironics Inc.,USA)
